An introduction to Post-GCSE study skills

Welcome to the St John’s Post-GCSE Study Skills Session. The period of education after GCSE can be quite challenging because you might face new obstacles. For example, you may find you have a higher workload and a greater focus on independent study. This session is designed to help you develop your skills so that you can overcome these challenges, all while learning how to study with maximum effectiveness. You will have a chance to reflect on the learning style that suits you best, and how you can tailor your learning to work with that style.

In order to make the most of this session, you will need to download the Post-GCSE Study Skills activity pack below, and either print it off or have it ready to edit on your computer. You’ll also need some pens, pencils and paper, and internet access so that you can look up a few websites while completing the activities.

We would love to see any examples of work that you do during your Inspire Summer School. This can be a photo of something you have made, a picture you have drawn, some written work (e.g. the start of a speech, or the answer to a question we asked), or some thoughts you have about what you have learnt! Submit your work to us through this form.

All pupils who share their work with us by August 31 2021 will receive a certificate of participation in the summer school and will be entered into a prize draw! A £10 Amazon voucher will be awarded to each winning entry, selected randomly from all submissions. If you give us permission, your entry may be shared on Inspire Digital and our social media alongside your first name.
