Year 12 & 13 Theology Study Day

This October, St John’s is holding a Theology Study Day for KS5 students and their teachers on Saturday 5th October. The Study Day is open to all UK students currently studying in Year 12 or 13 (or equivalent). Study days give pupils a taste of what it is like to live and study as an undergraduate at St John’s College and the University of Oxford. Participants will enjoy academic taster sessions, spend time with current undergraduate students and eat in the College dining hall.

Theology Study Day

The St John’s KS5 Theology Study Day will encourage pupils to engage with the continued significance of religious traditions, beliefs and practices in different social and cultural contexts. During academic sessions with College tutors, attendees will enjoy grappling with the historical, philosophical, literary and linguistic aspects of theology and religious studies.

Teachers can join in with any of the academic sessions and will have the opportunity to learn more about supporting their brightest pupils make well-founded applications to highly-selective universities.

The event is free for qualifying participants. The College is pleased to cover the costs of travel for participants who meet at least one of the following criteria:

a) are eligible for free school meals

b) are/have been in local authority care

To register for the Theology Study Day, pupils should fill out the Pupil Registration Form and return to access@sjc.ox.ac.uk by Wednesday 2nd October.

Any teachers wishing to attend should fill out the Teacher Registration Form and return to access@sjc.ox.ac.uk by Wednesday 2nd October.
