Year 12 Inspire 2020-21

Welcome to the Inspire Programme for Year 12!

The Year 12 programme consists of a series of online Twilight Sessions throughout the year. Sessions include a combination of academic taster talks by scholars from Oxford or other leading universities, and expert guidance on skills development and how to make an effective and competitive application to university. Additionally, you will have the chance to enter competitions based on your academic taster sessions, to win Amazon vouchers.

As we enter the third year for our Year 12 Inspire Programme, there are two exciting updates for 2020-2021!

First, the Year 12 Inspire programme has expanded! We are delighted that the programme is now open to pupils at all non-selective state schools and sixth-form colleges in the Oxford for South East group, as well as all of the St John’s Link Local Authority regions: the London Boroughs of Ealing and Harrow; Brighton and Hove; East and West Sussex; and Southampton.

Second, the Year 12 Inspire Programme for 2020-2021 will be run online, using Webinars and Interactive Sessions. During the programme we will be uploading session recordings and further resources here on Inspire Digital.

Applications to this year’s Year 12 Inspire Programme have now closed. For more information, and how to apply, click here to view the Year 12 Inspire Programme on the St John’s College website.

Twilight Sessions

Here, pupils enrolled on our Year 12 course can find recordings of our Twilight Session Taster Lectures, in case they couldn’t attend the live session.

Summer School

Here, pupils enrolled on our Year 12 course can find our virtual Summer School! All parts of the Virtual Summer School will remain live until Friday 23rd September 2021 (and most content will remain on the website after this), so you can always come back and work through this material again in your own time.

Competitions

With each session in the Year 12 course, we will include a competition for you to participate in, based on the Taster Lecture in that session. Some of these will be writing prompts, some will be problem questions and some will be creative assignments. All pupils enrolled on the Year 12 STEM or Arts and Humanities courses may participate in any of the competitions listed on the corresponding page.
