St John’s participates in all three of the University’s main open days, in June and September. This is a great time to visit Oxford as all the colleges are open and the vast majority of the departments also welcome visitors. You will have the chance to ask in-depth questions of the academics who design and deliver the courses, as well as being able to meet current students. St John’s is able to offer overnight accommodation to individuals and school groups travelling more than 70 miles for the Open Days and lunch for pre-booked visitors.
Our Access and Outreach Officer also welcomes visits from sixth form groups wanting to know more about Oxford. Programmes can be tailored to meet the needs of each group, but typically include a morning session on the structure of the University, financial support and making an application, a College tour led by a current undergraduate, lunch and an academic taster session. We can usually only host full-day visits from non-selective, state schools in our linked regions. For other schools, we can normally arrange a tour, often as part of a visit coordinated by your link college.
To arrange a school visit please contact the Access and Outreach Officer at firstname.lastname@example.org. To be kept informed of forthcoming opportunities for students and teachers register here.
