Competition 2.3 Results: Make your own volcano

The final competition in Class 2 of our Year 11 course was for course participants to make their own volcanoes, and make a film of the eruption. We received some absolutely stellar entries in response to this challenge, filled with useful facts about volcanoes and insightful ways of incorporating these into a project you can do with ingredients that you can find in your kitchen. You can watch the top videos below!

Competition 2.3: Make your own volcano

Watch the video linked below from the Natural History Museum, which shows you how to make your own volcano using household items that you probably have sitting around at home. Then follow the recipe on the website, and record a short video of your volcanic eruption.

A note on safety: Be sure to do this outside, as this project can get quite messy! Take care when handling the eruption ingredients and stand back when watching the eruption to make sure you don’t get any in your eyes.
